Corrections policy

Every public measure must be correctable.

Challenges should be answered with source checks, reproducible calculations, documented decisions, and visible corrections—not quiet edits.

01

Receive

A correction should identify the exact page, country and year, disputed value or statement, supporting source, and requested change.

02

Reproduce

We first verify the source archive, row identifiers, component inputs, formula version, build output, and whether the issue originates in V-Dem or the Democracys transformation.

03

Decide

Factual and calculation errors are corrected. Method disagreements receive a reasoned response and may inform a future version, but do not trigger an undocumented one-off score adjustment.

04

Publish

Material corrections will record the date, affected URLs and files, previous and revised values, reason, reviewer, and whether historical data were regenerated.

CURRENT LIMITATION

Submission inbox not yet configured

This beta cannot honestly offer a working correction channel until a verified Democracys.org address or issue tracker is connected. The process above is the committed policy; submissions are not currently accepted.

PUBLIC LEDGER

No material corrections recorded

Initial release: September 3, 2026. This statement will be replaced by a dated ledger after the first accepted correction.
